Two Men Shot Dead In Khagrachhari

Two men lost their lives in a shooting incident that occurred in Mohalchari upazila of Khagrachhari early Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Robi Kumar Chakma, 65, and Shanto Chakma Bimal, 52, were known activists associated with the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF), as stated by UPDF Organizer Angya Marma.

Angya Marma further informed that another UPDF activist, Rahindra Chakma Tipon, 32, is currently missing. According to the UPDF organizer, the three were engaged in organizational work in Mohalchari when they were unexpectedly targeted in a shooting by a group referred to as Nabyamukhosh Bahini.

On a different note, Shyamol Chakma Toru, the president of UPDF (Democratic), a faction within the organization, disputed any organizational activities by their party in the area. Toru asserted that the tragic deaths resulted from an internal conflict.

Nasir Uddin, the Office-in-Charge of Mohalchari police station, confirmed the recovery of two bodies from the scene. He added that the bodies would undergo autopsy at Khagrachari District Hospital.
