Dr Yunus Gets Bail In Labour Case

Nobel laureate Dr. Yunus has been granted bail by the labour court.

Four people, including Dr Yunus, who had been sentenced to six months’ jail, secured bail on Sunday (Jan 28).

Dr Yunus will remain on bail until the case is resolved.

On January 1, the labour court sentenced Grameen Telecom Chairman and Nobel Laureate Dr Yunus and three others for violating labour law.

The court fined them a total of Tk 30,000 each or remain behind bars for 25 days in default under two sections of the Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006.
