Fire Guts 2 Resorts In Sajek

A blaze has swept through multiple structures, including two resorts, in the popular tourist destination of Sajek Valley in Rangamati.

The fire reportedly started at one of the impacted resorts on Konglak Hills in Sajek around midnight on Thursday.

After approximately two hours of firefighting efforts, army personnel, along with assistance from locals, managed to bring the situation under control, as reported by the media.

Tourists who were staying at the resorts were safely evacuated, confirmed Chaithuang Aung Chowdhury Joy, the vice president of Sajek Cottage Owners Association.

Joy explained, "The fire originated at the Meghchhowa resort and then spread towards the Faringi resort."

In addition to the resorts, the residence of a resident named Bhuban Tripura and a nearby shop were also consumed by the flames.

Eyewitnesses mentioned that the fire seemed to escalate while locals were burning wood in the vicinity of the Meghchhowa resort.

However, the immediate extent of the damage caused by the fire remains uncertain.
