Spain President Greets Sheikh Hasina On Re-election as PM

Spanish President Pedro Sanchez has congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on forming the government for the fourth consecutive time amid absolute victory in the 12th National Parliament Elections.

Bangladesh Embassy in Madrid ensured this news in a circular on Friday (February 2).

Earlier Bangladesh Ambassador to Spain Mohammad Sarwar Mahmud met with Eva Maria Granados Galiano, Secretary of State (Minister of State) for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain in Madrid on Thursday February 1. At this time, he thanked the country's government for the warm congratulatory message sent by Spanish President Pedro Sanchez to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Meanwhile the Bangladesh Embassy in Madrid said in a circular on Friday regarding the meeting that both Spain and Bangladesh will expand and deepen the bilateral relations in the coming days in the context of the recently re-elected new government.
