In the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) nine projects have been approved at worth cost of BDT 4,453,210 crore. On Tuesday (February 13), the ECNEC meeting was held at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At this meeting the projects have been approved.

At the end of the meeting, Planning Secretary Satyajit Karmakar  told the media that the newly approved 9 projects will cost BDT 4,453,210 crore. Among the projects government funding is 3 thousand 909 crores and the organization's self financing is BDT 289 crore 58 lakh. Also the foreign loans and grants would be BDT 254 crore 43 lakh.

The approved projects are: Employment creation through freelancing training of educated job seekers in 48 districts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Sustainable Development Pathways of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of Bangladesh, Department of Health Education and Family Welfare of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. Establishment of Super Specialized Hospitals (2nd Revised) under (BSMMU), Expansion Project of Rural Development and Cooperatives Department of PDBF 2nd Phase.

Smart Pre-Payment Metering (2nd Phase) for West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd. (OJOPADICO) area of Electricity Department, Construction of new building of ACC Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barisal and Sylhet Divisional Offices and Upward Expansion and Planning of Mymensingh Divisional Office proposed by Anti-Corruption Commission Department's Urban Resilience Project (URP): Project Coordination and Monitoring Unit (PCMU) (4th Revised) project. Besides, the proposal to extend the duration of the ongoing Secondary Education Sector Investment Program (CESIP) (3rd Amendment) project of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education are being approved.
