Gas Supply Suspended In 4 Northern Districts For 3 Days

The West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) has announced a three-day suspension of gas supply in four districts of northern Bangladesh due to pipeline maintenance work. This information was revealed in a notice published on the company's website.

According to the statement, gas transmission company GTCL will replace a 30-inch diameter, 32-kilometer gas transmission pipeline in the Hatikumrul area of Sirajganj. The pipeline replacement work will commence from 8:00 PM today until 8:00 AM on Saturday (within the shortest possible time). During this period, gas supply to all categories of customers under WZPDCL's jurisdiction will be temporarily suspended.

It has been reported by PGCB that the areas under the company's jurisdiction are in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions. The gas distribution areas include Rajshahi City Corporation, Sirajganj Sadar, Ullapara, and Shahzadpur upazilas. Pipeline for gas supply is present in Pabna Sadar, Bera, Santhia, Ishwardi upazilas (excluding EPZ), Bogura Sadar, and Shahjadpur upazilas. Therefore, gas supply in these areas will be halted starting today.

As per the latest information on the company's website, PGCB has a total of 1,29,411 connections. These include connections to 10 power centers, 53 captive power plants, 31 CNG filling stations, 133 industries, and 332 commercial establishments, along with 1,28,852 residential connections.
