7 Killed In Tragic Bus Mishap In Mymensingh

A tragic accident occurred today, Friday (February 16), around 11 a.m. in the Alalpur area of ​​the Sadar Upazila in Mymensingh, where a CNJ-operated autorickshaw was crushed, resulting in the death of seven people, including the CNJ driver.

Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Kotwali Model Police Station in Mymensingh, stated that a bus belonging to Adil Paribahan, traveling from Dhaka to Sherpur, collided head-on with the CNJ near Alalpur. As a result, seven people, including the CNJ driver, lost their lives. The fire service is currently working to recover the bodies from the scene of the incident.

Anwar Hossain mentioned that the bus has been seized and police are working at the scene to restore normal traffic flow.

Among the deceased, three belong to the same family. They are Bablu Ahmed (45), his wife Shila Akhtar (35), their son Md. Sadman (7), and CNJ driver Alamin Hossain (25). Their home is in the village of Diu in Phulpur Upazila. The identities of the other victims are yet to be ascertained.

Three of the deceased, who are relatives, were on their way to a relative's funeral. The bodies have been sent to Mymensingh Medical College for autopsy.

DC Dider-E-Alam Mohammad Maksud Chowdhury stated that Tk. 20,000 will be provided for the burial of the deceased. A committee will be formed to investigate the incident.
