Controversy Erupts At Ekushey Book Fair Over Mushtaq-Tisha's Presence

In this year's Amar Ekushey Book Fair, several books are being discussed and critiqued, one of which is 'Tisha-r Bhalobasa (Tisha's Love)'.

The author of the book is Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed, who has come into discussion in Bangladeshi social media for marrying a much younger woman.

Recently, a video has surfaced on social media where Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed and his wife, Synthia Islam Tisha, are seen being escorted out of the book fair premises by law enforcement officials.

Right behind them, a group of young people can be seen advancing towards Tisha-Mushtaq couple, shouting slogans like 'shame, shame'. The video also captures some derogatory remarks directed at the couple.

Since the incident, there has been a lot of discussion and criticism on social media from both supporters and critics. Those in favor of the couple argue that Tisha-Mushtaq's marriage is inspiring.

On the other hand, those against the incident argue that the way the youths behaved towards the couple is a clear violation of individual liberty and freedom of expression.

Khandaker Mushtaq Ahmed, a former member of the governing body of Ideal School and College, Dhaka, had recently married a student of the same college, Sinthia Islam Tisha.

Mushtaq had previously written a book titled 'Tisha and Mushtaq'. The couple is quite active on social media platforms.

The book 'Tisha's Love' has been a subject of discussion since the beginning of the fair this year.
