FM Thanks Egypt For Delivering Bangladesh Aid To Gaza

Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today thanked the Egyptian government for their timely support in facilitating the delivery of three consignments of humanitarian assistance sent by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the distressed Palestine people in Gaza.

He conveyed Dhaka's gratitude when Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh Omar Mohie Eldin Ahmed Fahmy called on him at foreign ministry here.

During the meeting, Bangladesh's foreign minister urged Egypt as a member of both OIC and Arab League to raise a strong voice for achieving a ceasefire to avoid further casualties of civilians especially women and children in Gaza.

The ambassador congratulated Mahmud for assuming the office of the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

During the meeting, they also underscored the importance of more engagements between Bangladesh and Egypt to take the relationship to a new height.

They discussed the areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries particularly in jute sectors as well.

Both the minister and the ambassador emphasized high-level visits from both sides and the holding of 2nd round of Foreign Office Consultations, scheduled to be held in Cairo, as soon as possible.
