Aim To Establish Rail Connectivity In Every District: Minister

The Railway Minister, Md. Zillul Hakim, mentioned that the Prime Minister has expressed plans for a significant expansion of the railways, emphasizing the essential role they play in providing affordable passenger and freight transport services. The expansion will aim to establish rail connectivity in every district.

Speaking to reporters after a journey from Dhaka to Rajbari on the Sundarban Express train, the Minister disclosed that the Prime Minister has endorsed a project to extend railway service from Bhanga to Payra port through Barishal. New railway coaches and engines have been procured for this purpose, and additional measures have been put in place for the growth of the railway network. A railway factory spanning 105 acres is slated to be constructed in Rajbari, focusing on repairs, maintenance, and the manufacture of train carriages.

Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Abu Qaiser Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police Mukit Sarkar, Rajbari Railway Station Master Tanmoy Kumar Dutta, and others were present at this time.
