Voting Stopped If Irregularities Found In Polling Station: EC

Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Alamgir emphasized that if any irregularities are discovered in the city elections, the polling at those centers will be halted. He made these comments after concluding a meeting with officials responsible for the Mymensingh City Corporation elections, local administration, and relevant stakeholders at the Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday afternoon.

Addressing the media, EC Alamgir stated that the process of digitizing all election-related activities, including the submission of nomination papers by candidates, is in progress after the discontinuation of the analog system.

EC Alamgir reassured the public that the election process will be conducted impartially, with no room for irregularities. He promised that any complaints received will be promptly addressed.

Following the meeting, EC Alamgir engaged with mayoral and councilor candidates at the Tarek Smriti Auditorium at the Town Hall. Present at the occasion were the Mymensingh Divisional Commissioner, officials from the DIG office, and senior officers from various levels.
