The government, along with semi-government and autonomous offices, have established new operating hours for the month of Ramadan. Under these guidelines, offices will be operational from 9 am to 3:30 pm, as announced during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, February 28.

According to Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain, who addressed reporters during an afternoon briefing at the Secretariat following the meeting, there will be a 15-minute break allocated for Zuhr prayers from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm.

Furthermore, it was noted that banking companies and financial institutions will determine their own office hours leading up to Ramadan.

The start of the fasting month of Ramadan is contingent upon moon sighting and is anticipated to commence on either March 12 or 13.
