After RAJUK's inspection drive, 12 restaurants have been closed for illegal construction at Gawsia Twin Peak Tower in Dhanmondi.

Simultaneously, one restaurant has been fined. The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) has been informed of the decision today by RAJUK's Director and Executive Magistrate Tajina Sarowar.

Earlier, RAJUK started the inspection drive in the building at 11 am. The campaign removed the retro live kitchen named Roof Top Restaurant from the building's roof.

According to the sources of the inspection drive, the building's roof was supposed to remain empty as per RAJUK's rules. However, the restaurant was built without any permission. So RAJUK is demolishing it.

The inspection drive's Director and Executive Magistrate of Zone-3 Tajina Sarowar said, illegal restaurants and food courts are being run in this building that is originally F category.

This building has been approved by RAJUK for an office. But around 8-10 restaurants have been illegally built here. We are investigating these matters. We will provide details after the inspection drive.
