2nd Nuclear Power Plant Will Also Be Established In Pabna: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the second nuclear power plant will also be established in Pabna. She has directed to start preparations from now on. Additionally, she announced that two satellites will be launched very soon.

She made these remarks at the research funding program at her office on Monday morning (March 11).

Furthermore, the Prime Minister stated that without research, no progress can be made in any field. The government always emphasizes on research. The Awami League created opportunities for science education and research when it came to power in 1996. Apart from that, Bangabandhu also gave great importance to science. After '75, the self-proclaimed rulers did not give importance to research.

She mentioned that each party has its policies and patriotism. The Awami League always believes in doing things on its own without relying on others. The main goal of the government is to give more importance to research on human resources and health issues. The funds and fellowships come from the people. Therefore, the Prime Minister urged to keep in mind that research should be used for the welfare of the people.

The Prime Minister said that our goal now is to build a smart country. In this regard, we rely most on scientists. Through science, research, and innovation, the country will move forward. At the same time, she mentioned that she would award prize money to 16 teams.

At the beginning of the program, 54 people were awarded the Bangabandhu Science and Technology Fellowship. Among them, 25 were awarded the National Science and Technology Fellowship, 10 were awarded the Bangabandhu Science and Technology Fellowship, and 19 were awarded special research grants.
