In response to the suspension of hotel and restaurant drives, a petition has been filed in the High Court seeking to halt the ongoing drives. The petition was submitted today, Monday, March 11th. Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12th, the petition is scheduled to be heard in a dual bench of the High Court.

The petitioners argue that the abrupt suspension of hotel and restaurant activities has significantly impacted their livelihoods and the hospitality industry at large. They contend that such measures should be subject to thorough review and consultation with stakeholders before implementation.

The drives were initiated as a response to concerns over public health and safety amidst the ongoing pandemic. However, the petitioners claim that the blanket suspension is disproportionately affecting businesses without considering alternative measures to ensure compliance with health protocols.

Representatives from both sides are expected to present their arguments during tomorrow's hearing. The outcome of the hearing will determine whether the suspension remains in effect or undergoes revision based on the court's decision.
