4 Killed As Truck Overturns In Cumilla

Four people lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries when a truck transporting fish overturned in Eliotgonj union of Cumilla on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway today, March 12th, at 6 am, according to Omar Faruq Mollah, the officer in charge of Elliotgonj Highway Police Outpost.

The deceased have been identified as Rafiqul Islam from Satkhira district, and Monir Hossain, Habibur Rahman, and Akhter Hossain from the Monpura area of Bhola.

Officer-in-charge Faruq Mollah stated that according to eyewitnesses, the truck carrying fish lost control after colliding with another truck in the Elliotgonj area of Cumilla while en route from Noakhali to Dhaka.

"Four individuals were severely injured, and unfortunately, despite being rushed to the nearby Chandina Upazila Health Complex for treatment, they succumbed to their injuries," said OC Faruq.

The bodies have been placed at the Elliotgonj police outpost pending legal procedures and will be handed over to their families, as stated by OC Faruq. Additionally, the truck involved in the accident has been recovered._
