The legal notice sent regarding the cessation of the "Indecent Dance Performance by Students" at Brac University Gala Night Program-3 has stirred public interest. Supreme Court lawyer Ikhlas Uddin Bhuiya sent this legal notice on Tuesday (March 12) to the concerned parties.

The legal notice targets the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education, the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, and the Vice-Chancellor of Brac University, urging them to resolve the dispute. The notice instructs them to halt the project within the next 15 days. Failure to comply would result in further legal action through a writ application.

Lawyer Ikhlas Uddin Bhuiya stated, "I have issued a legal notice to Brac University and others involved in the 'Gala Night Program-3' under the guise of an unnecessary event called 'TARC'.”

He continued, “The alleged 'TARC' event on March 10th at Savar's Birulia involved indecent dancing by students, leading to adverse reactions from parents, which the university cannot afford.”

Bhuiya further commented that Brac University charges hefty fees under the name of such events, but they serve no educational purpose. He criticized the university for promoting social misconduct under the guise of such programs, devoid of ethical considerations.

He concluded, "Therefore, we have instructed the relevant authorities to shut down this unnecessary 'TARC' project within 15 days of receiving this notice. Otherwise, legal action will be taken following Section 286 of the Penal Code for public interest and legal compliance."
