Government employees can enjoy a full 6-day holiday during the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr. Even if not 6 days, at least 5 days of leave are being granted to government officials and employees.
Yesterday, on Tuesday (March 12th), the month of fasting, Ramadan, began. According to sources from the Ministry of Public Administration, on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, there will be a regular holiday. And government officials and employees will enjoy holidays on the preceding and following days of Eid as per directive.
Now, if Ramadan lasts for 30 days, Eid-ul-Fitr will be on April 11th (Thursday). The government has already prepared the holiday schedule by determining the date of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Accordingly, holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr have been set for the 10th, 11th, and 12th of April (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). The following day, April 13th (Saturday), will be a weekly holiday. The day after that, April 14th (Sunday), will be a holiday for the Bengali New Year. Hence, this time government employees will be able to enjoy a holiday of at least 5 days during Eid.
However, if a holiday is announced on April 9th (Tuesday), considering the 29th of Ramadan, by the Prime Minister's directive, then government employees will enjoy a full 6-day holiday.
