The High Court ruled that the Gulshan's house occupied by Khulna-4 Constituency Member of Parliament and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy must be vacated within 3 months.

Today Tuesday (March 19) the High Court bench of Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Kazi Ibadat Hossain announced the verdict.

The court ordered Salam Murshedy to hand over his house in Gulshan to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works within 3 months of receiving the copy of the judgment.

Earlier yesterday, Monday (March 18), in a long hearing, Salam Murshedy's lawyer presented the tradition of the transfer documents of the house since 1962. He claimed that this property was never abandoned. In 1997, Salam Murshedi bought the house from the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) following the rules.

But the petitioner's lawyer presented the counter documents and told the court that all the documents on the part of Salam Murshedy were forged, which has been proven in government investigations at various times. Apart from this, the court was told that Salam Murshedy himself claimed it as an abandoned property in a letter.

In this situation, the petitioner's lawyer demanded that the house be freed from possession and the ACC's investigation be nullified.

Earlier in the hearing of this writ last Thursday, the court commented that the house is an abandoned government property.

Lawyer Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon filed a writ petition in the High Court on October 30, 2022, alleging that house No. 29 of Road No. 104 of Gulshan-2 occupied by Salam Murshedy is an abandoned property. On November 1 of the same year, the High Court issued a ruling seeking to know why the inaction of the defendants to take action against Salam Murshedy for claiming government property should not be declared illegal.

On November 13, 2022, documents related to that house were filed in the High Court. A report in this regard was submitted to the court on January 30 of the following year. The report claimed that the house was not listed as an abandoned property.

In a report of the ACC given to the court in February this year, it was claimed that Salam Murshedy took possession of the property by fraud.
