The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) apprehended nine individuals, including a Shohoz official responsible for managing Bangladesh Railway's e-ticketing system, on suspicion of involvement in the illicit sale of train tickets.
The arrests took place in the Kamalapur and Sabujbagh areas of the city during an RAB operation on Friday.
The disclosure came during a press briefing at the RAB headquarters in the capital city. The detained individuals were named as follows: Mizan Dhali, aged 48, who is believed to be the main orchestrator of the syndicate; his nephew Sohel Dhali, aged 30; Md Sumon, aged 39; Sabur Hawlader, aged 40; Jahangir Alam, aged 49; Shahjalal Hossain, aged 42; Md Rasel, aged 24; Joynal Abedin, aged 46; and Newton Biswas, aged 40.
ASP Al-Amin, the Assistant Director of RAB's Legal and Media Wing, stated that the apprehended individuals were part of a ticket black marketing group, with Mizan Dhali being one of the key figures. During the operation, RAB also seized illegally obtained train tickets from the suspects.
