Bangladesh Population Stands At 170.1mn

According to the population census and summary of 2022, as of January 1, 2024, the estimated population stood at 170,159,090, where the female population was 87,390,000 and the male population was 84,420,000.

Today, on Sunday (March 24), in the auditorium of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in Agargaon, the results of 'Bangladesh Sample Vital Statistics 2023' were announced in an event.

The Director-General of the Bureau of Statistics, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, chaired the event. Planning Minister M. Shahiduzzaman Sarkar was present as the chief guest.

Special guests included the Secretary of the Planning and Statistics Department, Dr. Shahnaz Arefin, and the Director-General of the Department of Statistics, Sahan Ara Banu.

According to the information provided by the organization, the latest final population in Bangladesh was 169,828,911. Accordingly, the country's population has increased by 1,706,189 people.
