Demand for advance train tickets for Eid travel has surged further on the third day of sales. Tickets for April 5 were quickly sold out within 10 minutes of becoming available on Shohoz.com at 8 a.m., a faster pace compared to the preceding two days.

According to Md Masud Sarwar, the Station Manager of Kamalapur Rail Station, the rush for tickets intensifies as Eid approaches. He noted that demand soared significantly on Tuesday, particularly for April 5, which falls on a Friday, indicating the start of the journey back home for many people.

Ticket sales for western region routes commenced at 8 a.m., followed by eastern region routes at 2 p.m.

This year, Bangladesh Railway has scheduled trains assuming Eid to be on April 11. Advance ticket sales began on Sunday and will conclude on March 30. However, tickets for April 10-12 will be sold depending on the sighting of the moon.

By 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, tickets for several popular trains like Silk City Express, Padma, Dhumketu, Banalata, and Madhumati were already sold out. Even before sales began, many trains had limited available seats.

Tickets for Rangpur Express, Kurigram Express, and Panchagarh Express were snapped up within three minutes. Although tickets appeared as 'available' around 8:30 a.m., they couldn't be purchased.

On the first day of sales, tickets were available past 10 a.m., but on Monday, they sold out even faster, with some trains fully booked within 15 minutes and all tickets sold within half an hour.

Tickets for trips on April 6 will be sold on March 27, and for April 7 on March 28. Advance ticket sales for the return journey after Eid will begin on April 3, and ticket seekers can purchase return tickets to Dhaka until April 9.

This year, approximately 33,500 inter-city train tickets will be sold ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, along with the operation of eight pairs of special trains on various routes across the country.
