Police Inspector General Abdulah Al-Mamun has urged extra caution against charging extra fares on buses, launches, or trains centered around Eid. He mentioned that adequate security arrangements will be made to ensure safety in empty Dhaka this Eid.
He further informed that on Friday (March 29), at noon, at the Rajarbagh Police Central Mosque, the annual call to prayer, qira'ah, and recitation competition winners will be announced followed by prize distribution.
Furthermore, he also urged people to call 999 if anyone attempts to charge extra fares during Eid travels, emphasizing that assistance will be provided.
The Inspector General stated that coordinated efforts are underway to curb ticket scalping in trains through the collaboration of all agencies. Coordination meetings with the Ministry of Bridges will be held to ensure uninterrupted Eid travel. Additionally, robust security arrangements are being made in tourist areas.
