Armed Robbers Loot Sonali Bank Branch In Bandarban, Abduct Manager

A group of armed assailants have robbed the Ruma Upazila branch of Sonali Bank in Bandarban This time they have stolen Tk1.59 crore from the vault of the Sonali Bank branch.

It is reported that the robbers also took away 14 guns belonging to Ansar members responsible for the security of the bank. Also the robbers abducted the branch manager, Nezam Uddin, during the robbery, Ruma Upazila Nirbahi Officer (acting) Didarul Alam told the media.

The attack occured around 9pm on Tuesday.

Mohammad Shahjahan, chief of Ruma Police Station, said senior officials of the state-run bank were coming to check how much money the robbers have taken away.
