Dhaka Becoming Empty, Security Forces On High Alert

People are leaving Dhaka ahead the of to share Eid joy with their families and relatives. And this time unwanted incidents are not unexpected in empty Dhaka. Hence the security arrangements have been made in Dhaka to deal with any untoward incident. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have taken special security measures to prevent robberies, dacoits, and thefts in empty Dhaka.

Also RAB is working to ensure safety by marking the red zone. On the other hand, the special team on behalf of DMP will  be deoloyed at the field level to ensure the safety of empty Dhaka.

According to law enforcement sources, several robbery, snatching and theft incidents took place in empty Dhaka last year during the Eid holidays. The most talked about incident was the murder of policeman Moniruzzaman Talukder. Who was killed by robbers in Farmgate area of ​​the capital on the second day of the last Eid-ul-Azha holiday. In addition, during the last Eid-ul-Azha holiday, a violent robbery took place at a house in Gudaraghat, Badda of the capital. The robbers took everyone hostage during the day and looted gold ornaments and cash. There is a fear of such crimes this Eid too.

It is also known that like other Eid holidays, this time too, about 1.5 crore people leave the capital and go to their villages to share Eid with family and relatives. As a result, the capital Dhaka will be almost empty during Eid holidays. In this opportunity, the activity of criminals increases every year. Flat houses and pedestrians of empty Dhaka became their easy targets. Therefore, special security measures have been taken to prevent these crimes from happening during this Eid holiday.

Meanwhile the Eid holiday starts on Tuesday, and this time both government and nongovernment employees getting comparatively long leave. So people are leaving the capital in droves to celebrate Eid.

According to law enforcement sources, RAB and police have taken different security measures to ensure the safety of the capital keeping in mind the bitter experience of the past. 

Even if crime is under control during Ramadan, crime may increase in empty Dhaka during the Eid holidays. New security measures have been taken from that apprehension. In addition, intelligence surveillance has already been increased. 

According to DMP sources it's being reported that the special team of DMP will work at the field level to ensure the security of empty Dhaka and suppress crimes like robbery, theft and snatching. A special team of DMP will patrol across the capital and take necessary action if any suspicious movement is found in residential and commercial areas. This special team will work 24 hours during Eid holidays. Besides, special security instructions have been given to 50 police stations of DMP to provide security to the empty Dhaka during the Eid holidays.

DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mahid Uddin said to the media that the adequate security system to provide security to empty Dhaka has been made. Along with Mobile patrol teams check posts will be strengthened. There will be a special team at the field level to suppress any crime in empty Dhaka. 

According to DMP sources, special security instructions have been given to 50 police stations of DMP from the DMP headquarters to provide security to Dhaka. Several meetings were also held at the DMP headquarters under the leadership of DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman. In these meetings, the officers in charge of 50 police stations of DMP have been instructed to take special security measures in empty Dhaka.

Meanwhile along with the police, RAB has also taken special security measures to provide security to empty Dhaka. RAB has already prepared special teams for some areas along with intelligence teams, check posts, robust patrol and patrol teams. Besides, RAB has increased intelligen
