Moon Sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr To Observe Tomorrow

The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals of Muslim Ummahs, will be celebrated in the country tomorrow (Thursday) as the moon of Shawwal month of 1445 Hijri was sighted in the sky of Bangladesh today.

"The moon of Shawwal month of 1445 Hijri was sighted today in the sky of the country. So, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Thursday, said a press release of Islamic Foundation (IF) this evening.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the office of IF at Baitul Mokarram National Mosque with Religious Affairs Minister Md. Faridul Haque Khan, MP, in the chair.

The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr in the capital will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am on Thursday. President Md. Sahabuddin, Supreme Court Justices, Cabinet Members, Parliament Members, and Politicians will participate in this Jamaat.

However, if the weather does not favour, the main Eid congregation will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 9 am. In the meantime, the overall preparation of the National Eidgah Maidan has been completed.
