Teknaf Shaken By Intense Firing Between Arakan Army and Junta Force In Myanmar

The sounds of gunfire and mortar shells are heard again from Myanmar across the Teknaf border in Cox’s Bazar. 

The residents of the Whykong and Hnila Union border of Teknaf are spending the night in fear. 

From 1:00 am on Thursday (April 11) to 9:00 am on Friday (April 12) morning, intermittent mortar shells and gunshots were heard along the border at several points in Teknaf. 

Locals claim that the Arakan Army is fighting with Myanmar junta forces to protect their existence. 

The sounds of bullets and mortar shells were heard in Whykong Uttar Para, Lombabil, Unchiprang, Kanjar Para, Hnila, Moulovi Para, Wabrang, Fuler Deil, Chowdhury Para, and Jaliya Para in Teknaf. 

“Civil war” is going on in the villages of Kumirhali, Naichdong, Kwangchigong, Shilkhali, and Nafpura, east of the border of Whykong and Hnila. 

Whykong UP Chairman Noor Mohammad Anwar said that since the day of Eid, the sound of mortar shells and gunshots has been heard intermittently. 

There is panic among the locals. Hnila UP Chairman Rashed Mohammad Ali said that the border area is shaking with the sound of mortar shells and bullets. 

There is a sound like thunder. People are having sleepless nights.
