Recently two flights from Israel landed directly in Dhaka airport. When the news was published in various media about the matter, strong discussion and criticism started. This time, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has explained those issues.

This was explained in a circular signed by CAAB's Deputy Director (Public Relations) Mohammad Sohail Kamruzzaman on Saturday.

According to the notification, the attention of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) has been drawn to the news published in the online edition of various newspapers and social media under the title "Airplane from Israel has arrived in Dhaka". One flight took off from Tel Aviv on April 7 and landed in Dhaka at 7:22 pm and took off from Dhaka at 11:55 pm with cargo and the other one landed in Dhaka on the night of April 11 and landed in Dhaka at 12:30 midnight on April 7 to transport Bangladeshi-made garments to the Middle East and Europe. Takes off from Dhaka with cargo. Both aircraft are registered in the United States and belong to the country's National Airlines.

The circular also said, 'Bangladesh and the United States have a bilateral aviation agreement. As per the aviation agreement, two cargo flights arrived in Dhaka. The garment flights from Dhaka went to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and a destination in Europe. There is no aviation agreement between Bangladesh and Israel and there has been no incident of any Israeli aircraft landing in Bangladesh.'

According to the notification, there is a possibility of confusion in the public mind due to heading on various online portals and social media titled "Airplane arrived in Dhaka from Israel. Moreover, such misleading news coverage is considered unintended and purposeful. All concerned are requested to refrain from publishing such news.”

Note that Bangladesh has no diplomatic relations with Israel. Bangladeshi passport holders are also banned from traveling to Israel. As a result, the country has no opportunity to carry out any kind of activities with Bangladesh.
