People Flock To Ramna Batamul, Chhayanaut Welcomes Baishakh

Today is Sunday, counting for the Bengali Year-1431 started in the calendar. To celebrate the new day of the new year, the biggest festival is being held at Ramna Batamul in the capital Dhaka.

People from all walks of life, regardless of religion, caste, class, rich, and poor took part in this festival which started at 6:30 am on Sunday (April 14). As a result, this event of Pahela Baishakh has turned into a huge colourful festival.

Many who attended the festival said that “a new year means new possibilities”. This arrangement of the new day of the new year will motivate to achieve the prosperity of the country, nation, society, and individual life. There will be a determination to overcome all obstacles and take firm steps on the path of progress.

People from different parts of the capital started coming to Ramna Batamul before dawn on Sunday. At 6:30 am, this year’s New Year program started with the tune of Ahir Bhairav ​​raga. More than a hundred artists of the cultural institution Chhayanaut welcomed the New Year with one voice. People from all walks of life are welcoming the new year with the call of the new.

Ramna Park was thronged with people within 6:30 am. On the first day of the year, many people’s clothes are dominated by red and white. Women are dressed in red and white sarees, glass bangles, and dul-malas. The men are adorned with the same color-patterned Punjabi. Besides, many have decorated the head with the red-green national flag print band. They attended Ramna Batamul Chhayanaut’s morning program song and poetry session.

On the spot, it was seen that with the dawn of the day at Ramna Batamul, the new year of Chhayanaut begins with the flute tune of Ahir Bhairab Raga. The theme of this event is the celebration of people and humanity. The motivation to develop oneself as a worthwhile person by loving people is being given in tune. The entire program of Chhayanaut is arranged in a new soft light with songs of nature, human love-patriotism, and self-realization-awakening. This year’s program features 11 ensemble songs, 15 solo songs, as well as readings and recitals.

The program of the New Year is being broadcast live by various government and private television channels, Bangladesh Radio and YouTube channels.

The entire Ramana Park area has been cordoned with security blankets around the New Year celebrations. DMP, RAB control room has been installed. The entrance and exit are separated.
