MV Abdullah, the ship owned by KSR Shipping, which is scheduled to return home from the Somali coast after releasing the hijackers, will arrive at Al Hamriyah Port on April 22. From there, two sailors will return home by plane. The rest will return home by ship.

Earlier, on Saturday (April 13) at 3 minutes past midnight, the hijackers left MV Abdullah. Earlier that day, in the afternoon, the hijackers agreed to release them according to their demands. MV Abdullah had $3 million in bags thrown overboard for the release. The hijackers took away three bags by speedboat.

Having been freed on Saturday night, MV Abdullah headed towards the United Arab Emirates from the Somali coast. Until it reaches a safe seaway, MV Abdullah is provided protection by two warships of the European Union's navy. Security measures for MV Abdullah include a Citadel for protection, emergency fire pumps, and sound signals.

On March 12, Somali pirates hijacked the ship of KSR Shipping. Twenty-three sailors were confined to a cabin. After the confinement, the ship was taken to the Somali coast. MV Abdullah began its journey from Maputo Port in Mozambique to Africa with 58,000 metric tons of coal on March 4. It was supposed to reach Hamriyah Port in the United Arab Emirates on March 19.

The MV Abdullah, a subsidiary of Kabir Group's SR Shipping, was previously known as 'Golden Hake'. The bulk carrier, built in 2016, has a length of 189.93 meters and a width of 32.26 meters. Last year, the ship was acquired by SR Shipping. Kabir Group has a total of 23 ships engaged in international trade carrying various types of goods on different routes.
