14 Dead In Three-Vehicle Collision In Jhalokathi

A three-way collision involving a truck, an auto-rickshaw, and a private car in Jhalokathi has resulted in 14 fatalities. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday (April 17) on the Gabkhan Bridge area of the Barishal-Pirojpur regional highway.

Jhalokathi Police Superintendent Mohammad Aforujul Haque Tutul confirmed the incident.

Upon receiving the news, fire service, police, and local residents are conducting rescue operations at the scene. The number of casualties may rise, according to local sources.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam of Jhalokathi Sadar Police Station stated that the confirmed death toll has reached 12. Between 16 to 20 individuals are currently hospitalized in various conditions. However, their identities are yet to be ascertained. The rescue operation is nearing completion, and further details will be provided later.
