6 People Die From Heat Stroke Across The Country

Six people died of heat stroke across the country today. Among them, 2 people died in Chattogram, 2 people in Chuadanga, 1 person each in Pabna and Gazipur. In Chattogram: Two people, including a child, have died of heat stroke in Chattogram. Due to the intense heat, the movement of people and vehicles has reduced in different parts of the city.

However, people suffering from fever, diarrhea and other diseases are being admitted to the city's hospitals. Among them the number of children and old people is high. Chattogram Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital Medicine Outpatient Resident Physician (RP) Dr. Md. Shahed Uddin informed this information.

He said, working people have started suffering from heat stroke in the city. Meanwhile, a 70-year-old man named Saleh Ahmad Shah along with a six-month-old child died of heat stroke in Chattogram.

Meanwhile, a six-month-old girl named Safa died in Boalkhali Upazila of the same district. 

In Pabna: Heatwave also blowing over Pabna district. The highest temperature of this season was recorded at 41.6 degrees Celsius at Ishwardi in Pabna on Saturday (April 20). Apart from this, it has been reported that a person named Sukumar Das (60) died of heat stroke in Pabna city due to heat.

He suffered a heat stroke while having tea at a tea shop on Rupkatha Road in Pabna on Saturday afternoon. At that time, people around rescued him and took him to Pabna General Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. 

Pabna General Hospital's resident medical officer  Zahidul Islam confirmed this.

In Chuadanga: Severe to very severe heatwave continue in the district. The highest temperature of the country has been recorded in this district for four consecutive days.

The maximum temperature recorded in Chuadanga district was 42.3 degrees Celsius at 3 pm on Saturday. The met office is also claiming that this is the highest temperature of the current season.

Meanwhile, a man named Zakir Hossain died of heat stroke while working in the field in Thakurpur village of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga. He is the son of Amir Hossain of Thakurpur village of Damurhuda upazila.

Besides, one more person died due to heatstroke in Chuadanga's Damurhuda due to excessive temperature. The name of the deceased is Marjina Khatun (60). She died at her home around 3 pm on Saturday.

In Gazipur: A mentally imbalance young man died of heat stroke on Jailkhana Road, Konabari, Gazipur City Corporation. His name is Sohail Rana, son of Abdur Razzak of Enayetpur area of Gazipur City Corporation.

KM Ashraf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Konabari Police Station, said that his body was recovered on Saturday afternoon and sent to Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
