Two KNF Members Killed In Army Drive In Bandarban

Two armed members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) have been killed in a drive carried out by the Bangladesh Army at Ruma upazila in Bandarban district. At the same time, the Army recovered three firearms, gunshots, a Walkie-talkie, and other ammunition from the remote Baklai Para area of the upazila.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a release on Sunday.

On 3 April, Two branches of Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank were attacked by a group of armed hoodlums in Thanchi of Bandarban hours after the armed robbers targeted Sonali Bank's Ruma branch.

A manager of Sonali Bank's Ruma branch was kidnapped and over Tk17.5 lakh was stolen from two bank branches in Thanchi.

They also looted firearms from security officers of the banks. The robbers are suspected to be members of the KNF.
