206 Illegal Immigrants Including 132 Bangladeshis Arrested In Malaysia

The Immigration Department has arrested 206 illegal immigrants including 132 Bangladeshis from Johor state in Malaysia. On Friday, 206 illegal immigrants were arrested in raids at various places in Pasir Gudang area of the state.

Johor State Immigration Department Director Bahar Uddin Tari said in a statement on Saturday that the Immigration Department raided a construction site in the area and arrested 206 people after checking their documents of a total of 530 foreigners and local people.

Among those arrested are 132 Bangladeshis, 53 Chinese, 10 Myanmar, 6 Pakistanis, 3 Indonesians, 2 Vietnamese and one local. The age of those arrested is betwen 18 to 61 years.

According to the Director of the Immigration Department, action will be taken against those arrested.

Meanwhile, from January to April 27 of this year, 1,936 illegal immigrants have been arrested in various parts of the state, according to a statement from the Immigration Department.
