Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said that it does not make sense to close all educational institutions because it is too hot. If the temperature in a district exceeds 42℃, the educational institutions of the respective area will remain closed on that day.

He said this at the opening ceremony of Technical and Vocational Education Week at Dhaka Women's Polytechnic Institute on Sunday.

The education minister said that if something happens, educational institutions should be closed first, we have to come out of such a mentality. Our new curriculum is institution-centric, so students need to come to schools and colleges. Online classes can be done in higher education.

He also said that the decision to keep the school open on Saturday was made to compensate for the loss of students during summer. Once the deficit is recovered, the ministry will decide in this regard.

Meanwhile, educational institutions have opened amid severe heatwave and heat alerts. However, the attendance rate in the classroom has decreased compared to the normal time. Parents have demanded that schools be closed or take classes online during the severe heatwave as some students fall sick.

Educational institutions were opened today after being closed for a long time due to Eid-ul-Fitr and severe heatwave. However, the severe heatwave and adverse weather conditions have dampened the joy of students returning to class.

The parents demanded that the education program be conducted online until the severe heatwave across the country changes.
