Padma Bridge Toll Collection Tops In 22 Months

The government has collected Tk 15.0 billion in tolls from the vehicles that crossed the Padma Bridge in 22 months since the opening of the bridge on June 25, 2022.

Local news portals said the amount was collected from the Mawa end and Jajira end of the bridge till Saturday. In 22 months, as many as 5,601,232 vehicles crossed the bridge from the Mawa end and 5,689,863 vehicles from the Jajira end.

The bridge was opened for traffic the day after its inauguration.

Amirul Haider Chowdhury, additional director of Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA), expressed his hope that the toll collection would increase in the coming days.
