'Abdul Hyee was a veteran politician in South-West politics. He was a very tolerant personality. He has set an example of the beauty of politics - compassion for all. Furthermore, he will be the light of the future for everyone.'

Jhenaidah-2 Constituency Member of Parliament Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee Mohul said these things about the late Jhenaidah-1 Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Abdul Hyee in the condolence proposal brought to the session of the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday (May 2).

The condolence proposal was brought at the beginning of this session under the chairmanship of Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury at 5 pm.

At the beginning of the condolence proposal, Md. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee Mohul expressed deep condolences to the soul of the late member of parliament and his bereaved family.

Nasser Shahrear Zahedee Mohul said, Abdul Hyee was initiated into the ideals of Bangabandhu while studying in the eighth grade at a young age and joined BCL politics. And in just five years in 1969, he simultaneously served as the President of Jhenaidah Sub-division Chhatra League, the Vice-President of Greater Jessore District Chhatra League and the Vice-President of Government Keshab Chandra College Student Council.

Nasser Shahrear Zahedee said, When the independence war started in 1971, Abdul Hyee hoisted the first flag of independent Bangla at Jhenaidah. After Bangabandhu's martyrdom, he went to India to take part in the resistance. After coming to the country in 1977, he had to be harassed in various ways, including arrest warrants. In the eighties, he organized the Awami League in Jhenaidah. In 1996, after the death of the then district Awami League general secretary, Matiur Rahman, Abdul Hyee became the acting general secretary and was elected as the general secretary in the 1998 councilor conference. After that, from 2005 till his death, he served as the President of Jhenaidah District Awami League for almost 20 years.

He mentioned that once Jhenaidah was a very hot spot for terrorists. Abdul Hyee set an example through patience, wisdom and political tolerance to maintain a fair democratic political system in such areas. He was an acceptable person to all; Even the opposition leaders have got support from him.

Nasser Shahrear Zahedee said, Abdul Hyee was a star in the political arena of Jhenaidah district. He won every general election from 2001 till his death. He decorated the post of Member of Parliament five times in a row. Unfortunately, he is not with us today. But I firmly believe that a personality like Abdul Hyee will live on in our youth. He left an example of political wisdom, his use of it, drawing the workers together, walking with everyone. I strongly believe that he will be a beacon of light in the future for the young politicians today, those involved in student politics and all of us in the decaying society today.

Besides, Md SM Kamal Hossain, Member of Parliament of Khulna-3 Constituency, Md Zillul Hakim, Member of Parliament of Rajbari-2 Constituency, Md Tauhiduzzaman Tuhin, Member of Parliament of Jashore-2 Constituency, Jashore-3 Constituency Member of Parliament Kazi Nabil Ahmed and Tangail-1 Constituency Member of Parliament Dr. Abdur Razzak also discussed the condolence proposal.
