David Meale To Replace Haas As New US Envoy To Bangladesh

Washington has appointed David Slayton Meale as the new US ambassador to Bangladesh, according to a statement from the Whitehouse.

According to the statement on May 9, David Slayton Meale, nominee to be ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the people’s republic of Bangladesh.

The name of the Slayton Meale has been sent to the Senate for approval.

David Slayton Meale will replace Peter D Haas, who was appointed to the role in 2021.

David Meale, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor, is currently Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China, where he also served as Chargé d’Affaires ad interim.
