Shakib's suspension for three matches as punishment has now brought to the fore in the country's domestic cricket. Those who are supposed to answer the question of why there is no discussion about domestic cricket are always locked in their mouths. But many others have opened their mouths in the ongoing debate.

The umpires are those who will enforce the laws of cricket on the field in whom the spirit of cricket alive. But it is now well known that the umpires of Bangladesh's domestic cricket have long since lost their seats by representing the ruling clubs on the field.

There is no shortage of such incidents in Dhaka cricket in the last few years. Giving out even if the batsman is not out and mess with wide, no signals have become a familiar event in domestic cricket.

In 2017, Lalmatia club cricketer Sujan Mahmud was expelled for 10 years for protesting against a biased umpiring. In protest against the umpire's decision, Sujan deliberately bowled wide balls.  Axiom Cricketers scored 92 runs from that over.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has so far not investigated or punished any umpires, despite a spate of bad umpiring incidents and written complaints from victimized clubs. On the contrary, those umpires have become more privileged over time by giving an unfair advantage to special clubs on the field. And the influential clubs are at the top of the points list after winning the match unjustly due to their biased decision confirming their strong position in the BCB elections.

An incident of 2019. Dhaka Royals got into a commotion over the decision of the umpire in the match against Kamrangirchar in the third division cricket match at Fatullah Stadium. Later in the captain's report, Dhaka Royals captain Shahriar Anik called the umpire a 'thief'. 8-10 days after the incident, the BCB expelled Shahriar and coach Saiful Islam for two years, a sentence that is still in force. There are allegations that they were punished without following due process.

These domestic cricket events are not the only thing that has shaped the points list in the minds of influential people. This is having the most toxic effect on young cricketers. Biased umpiring, muscularity, and club politics have polluted the climate of their growing up as cricketers. Young cricketers are growing up knowing wrong as right. Before they get to the game, they know they have to lose today, or no one can stop them from winning.

Shakib Al Hasan became a laughing stock for the young cricketers of a third division team because of this 'education' they got from domestic cricket. In the match against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy, the cricketers were watching the match together when Shakib asked Mahmudullah and Rubel Hossain to leave the field. Seeing Shakib's angry behavior on the field, they laughed a lot. One of them said, ‘He is so angry for not giving only one or two no balls! Shakib Bhai should have played our third division cricket, If only he could learn something. '

Such controversial actions by those in power on or off the field are nothing new. There was a time when there were club supporters among the umpires. Again, there were cases of biasness out of affection or fear towards a particular star. But the problem is that now not one or two matches but the entire tournament is trapped in this disease. Powerful teams are accused of not only biasness in their own matches, but also influencing other matches.

There are allegations that in domestic cricket, the distribution of match umpires is now masterfully planned to win over the powerful clubs or clubs! The question may arise as to why professional umpires should abandon ethics in the current salary structure and match fees of umpires. Concerned parties say the answer is simple. The regulators of power effortlessly bait them to either obey the instructions or give up salaries and match fees. So in domestic cricket, the umpires are the first to be noticed in the matches of special teams.

Imran Parvez Ripon and Mahfuzur Rahman Litu officiated the Abahani-Mohammedan match on Friday (June 11). However, there are more than two umpires in the country who are more efficient in managing the matches of the two big teams. Why didn't they get the responsibility? The answer, of course, is known in advance. The international umpires of Bangladesh felt uncomfortable in managing the matches of the powerful team. So Abahani has played Imran Parvez in four matches and Mahfuzur Rahman in three matches in the seventh round of the Premier League. Among them, they have managed Abahani's match against Mohammedan and Gazi Group in two pairs. But first of all, the game. Willing or unintentional wrong umpiring actually harms not just one cricketer but the whole of cricket.

This image of domestic cricket in the country is known to all cricket-related people. But no one talks about it out of fear or in the hope of gaining benefits in the future. Kazi Inam Ahmed, head of the CCDM, however, hoped, "If any club informs us in writing of such allegations, we must take action from the CCDM." If necessary, I will also inform the board so that cricket can be free from these problems in the future. '

Cricket officials say that just as the teaching of good and bad behavior starts at home, everyone will agree that without the overall improvement of domestic cricket, there is no improvement in international cricket. It should not be forgotten that these irregularities and corruption in domestic cricket are not just a tournament point list in favor of the influential, it is having a toxic effect on the young cricketers.

Biased umpiring, muscularity and inferior club politics are polluting the climate of growing up as a good cricketer. If anyone knows they have to lose today before they start playing, or if no one can stop them from winning today, then the game is meaningless. There is no alternative to establishing a true cricketing culture in the country's domestic cricket before producing good cricketers at the national and international level.

Shakib Al Hasan's 'famous' kick is no doubt against the spirit of cricket. But it is also a huge blow to the wall of club cricket's vicious cycle. The cricket administration was so shaken by that injury that they have cleared Shakib of responsibility with minimum punishment. If it is more severe, where will Shakib hit again, who knows!
