One crore people were supposed to be vaccinated in one week. But the amount could not be kept right. The government is moving ahead with a plan to vaccinate 80 percent of the country's people. It will require 26 crore doses of vaccine.

Before the start of the mass vaccination, Health Minister Zahid Malek had said that one crore people in the country would be vaccinated from August 7 to August 14. He had to inject about 1.3 million doses a day to make that plan a success. Finally, the public vaccination has started from August 7. And it will continue for 6 days, till 12th August. A total of 32 lakh doses will be given at this time. 300 doses allocated daily for each center. Many people have been flocking to the center for vaccination since the first day of Ganatika. But many people are not getting vaccinated due to lack of vaccines. There have also been protests and riots.

The government has announced that it will vaccinate 130 million people over the age of 18. But no roadmap has yet been announced for how many days the vaccine will be given. It will take a total of 26 crore doses to vaccinate these 13 crore people.

The Oxford vaccine was first introduced in Bangladesh from India on January 21 and on a large scale from February 7. So far, a total of 2,73,43,920 doses of different brands of vaccines have been received from India, China, the United States and Japan. Of this, 1.7 million doses came from China last Tuesday.

As per the Department of Health, the first dose has been received by 1 crore 44 lakh 50 thousand 630 people and the second dose has been received by 47 lakh 32 thousand 832 people. In all, a total of 1 crore 91 lakh 63 thousand 472 doses have been vaccinated. As of Tuesday, the government has 81 lakh 60 thousand 458 doses. If two doses are given to each person, there are enough vaccines to be given to 4 million people.

However, vaccination should not be given only to newcomers. Many people are now waiting for the second dose of vaccine. Although they got the first dose, they did not get the second dose.

Apart from the mass vaccine, 2 crore 67 lakh 69 thousand 566 people have registered the vaccine in Bangladesh so far.

According to the Department of Health, the first dose of vaccine has been given to 4,94,341 people in the last 24 hours. If vaccinated at this rate, it would take 575 days or 19 months to vaccinate 11 crore people excluding those who have been vaccinated.

However, the health minister told the media that there are many vaccines in the pipeline.

He said on Saturday that 54 lakh vaccines would come this August. Of this, Covax will probide 34 lakh vaccine and China will provide 20 lakh vaccine. He added that a total of 75 million doses of vaccine will come from China. One and a half crore dose ticker agreement has been signed with China, which is starting to come. Another 60 million doses will be contracted.

In response to another question, he said, "We started with a plan to give 250-300 doses of Ganatika vaccine to each center every day. But thousands of people are coming. What should we do? You will get it. ”

Asked how long it would take for 130 million people to be vaccinated, he said, "We plan the way we get vaccinated. We keep giving. The rest is unknown."
