Mufti Ruhul Amin To Be Appointed as New Khatib of Baitul Mukarram

Mufti Ruhul Amin, Principal of Gahardanga Madrasa, is going to be appointed as Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Mufti Ruhul Amin told the media around 3:30 pm on Thursday (March 31) that he had not yet received the letter of appointment. However, it has been decided to appoint him as Khatib.

Mufti Ruhul Amin, son of the late Maulana Shamsul Haq Faridpuri, a renowned scholar of the country, is a member of Al Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatil Qawmiyah. He is also the Chairman of Qawmi Madrasa Education Board Gowhardanga and the Director-General of Gowhardanga Madrasa in Gopalganj.

Mufti Ruhul Amin is well known as an anti-Jamaat scholar like his father Maulana Shamsul Haque Faridpuri in the Qawmi Madrasa genre. He is one of the scholars who were active in demanding the official recognition of Hadith in the Daora of Qawmi Madrasa.

After the recognition, he conferred the title of 'Qawmi Janani' on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the 'Shokrana Mahfil' held at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on November 4, 2018. Although he wanted to be nominated by the Awami League in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election, he was not given one.
