Biometric Visa Application for Hajj Begins April 16

Visa applications through the biometric method for Hajj pilgrims will start from April 16 and will continue till April 30, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has notified.

According to a ministry notification, pilgrims registered under the government management system can apply for a biometric visa at district offices of the Islamic Foundation, Islamic Foundation headquarters at Agargaon of Dhaka, Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Office of the Waqf Administrator in Dhaka, as well as Dhaka and Ashkona Hajj offices.

Hajj pilgrims registered under the government will turn in their passports when they apply for biometric visas and get receipts. 

Meanwhile, pilgrims registered under the private management system can apply for biometric visas through their respective agencies and the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) office.

Pilgrims can submit their biometric visa application to the agency, turn in their passport, and receive a receipt.

The Hajj will be held on June 27 subject to the sighting of the moon. This year some 1,27,198 pilgrims, management team members, and guides will go to Saudi Arabia.

Among the pilgrims, 15,000 people can perform Hajj under government management and 1,12,198 people under private management.
