14 Dowry-Free Weddings Held At Biswa Ijtema’s 2nd Phase

On the second day of the second phase of this year’s Biswa Ijtema in Tongi, Gazipur, 14 dowry-free marriages were held. These marriages were conducted as per the Islamic Shariah after Asr prayers on Saturday (February 10).

One of the attractions of Biswa Ijtema is dowry-free marriage. On Saturday, the dowry-free wedding stage was held next to Ijtema’s Bayan (speech) area.

Since morning, the guardians have listed the names of the newlyweds. Maulana Yusuf bin Saad conducted the wedding ceremony of 14 newlyweds in the afternoon at around 5:15 pm.

With the consent of the bride, the marriage took place in the presence of the groom and the bride’s party. After the wedding, all the newlyweds are wished for a happy and prosperous life through prayers from the Bayan stage.

Mohammad Sayem, the media coordinator of the second phase of Biswa Ijtema said, that Maulana Yusuf bin Saad, the eldest son of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, completed the formalities of marriage to 14 couple in Mashwara on Saturday around 5:15 pm. Dates were distributed among the devotees present after the wedding.

The second phase of Biswa Ijtema officially started on Friday with the Aam Bayan at the shore of the Turag River in Tongi. Biswa Ijtema will end with Akheri Munajat on Sunday (February 11).

Earlier, the first phase of this year’s Biswa Ijtema was held on February 2-4.
