Govt To Issue Directives For Job Security Of Journos

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad A Arafat has announced that new directives regarding the job security of journalists will be issued soon.

He made the statement during a meeting with leaders of the Broadcast Journalist Center on Wednesday afternoon (February 14th).

Arafat said that no media house will be allowed to dismiss its employees without prior notice or without following proper procedures. Similarly, media workers will not be allowed to resign without giving proper notice to their respective media houses. Directives on this matter will be issued promptly by the Ministry of Information.

At present, news and various information are being disseminated through various social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Journalists demand the formation of policies to address these issues.

Mohammad Arafat supports journalists' demands but also emphasizes that while striving to prevent misinformation, the government remains vigilant to ensure freedom of expression without any obstruction.
