Gold Prices Spike Again

Gold prices in the country's market have increased again by Tk 1,516 considering the overall situation, reports media.

The decision of the price hike will come into effect from Sunday (August 22), Bangladesh Jewelers Samity (BAJUS) said in a press release signed by BAJUS General Secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala.

According to BAJUS, the decision was made considering the overall situation at home and abroad.

Under the increased rates, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 73,483 per bhori, 21-carat gold at Tk 70,334, and 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk 61,586 per bhori in the local market.

Besides, the price for the traditional method gold has been fixed at Tk 51,263.

Before the price hike, 22-carat gold was sold at Tk 71,967, 21-carat gold at Tk 68,818, 18-carat gold at Tk 60,070 and the traditional gold at Tk 49,747.

BAJUS has kept the price of silver unchanged at Tk 933 per bhori despite the rise in gold prices.
