The time for the international trade
fair is no longer extended. The scheduled time, January 31 is the end of the
first trade fair organized in the capital Purbachal.
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB)
Secretary and Director of the Fair Mohammad Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury confirmed
the information at noon on Saturday (January 29).
"We are conducting trade
fair following the hygiene rules within the restrictions imposed by the
cabinet department," he said. However, the fair is scheduled to end on
January 31. The fair time is not increasing anymore. The closing ceremony of
the fair will be held on the last day.
He added that the presence of
buyers during the holidays was noticeable, as a result of which traders have
benefited fairly. I have talked to all the big and small traders, they said
they are in profit.
The director of the fair said,
"We are satisfied with organizing the trade fair after two years." We
were apprehensive about the arrival of visitors. But our fears
have been disproved. This year, traders were apprehensive about the fair in a
permanent building in Purbachal. Despite the challenges, the traders were
satisfied with the presence of visitors. This year more people from the village
have come from the city visitors.
The National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 had earlier on January 25 recommended the closure of trade fairs and postponement of book fairs due to the massive increase in coronavirus infection. However, the trade fair activities were still going on.
On January 21, the Cabinet
Division issued a circular imposing a 7-point restriction on the overall
activities and prevention of the spread of coronavirus-borne disease Covid-19.
The government decided to continue the fair activities under the restrictions.
