Gold Prices Decline by Tk 1,166 Per Bhori

The prices of gold have declined ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr by Tk 1,166 to Tk 77,684 a bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market, Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) said on Monday, reports media.

BAJUS announced the fresh prices just two weeks after the association increased the prices of the precious metal.

The association took the decision because of the fall of price in the global market, BAJUS said in a press release.

The new price will come into effect from Tuesday.

Under the new rates, 22-carat gold will be sold at Tk 77,684 per bhori, 21-carat gold at Tk 74,184, and 18-carat gold will be sold at Tk 63,394 per bhori in the local market.

Besides, the price for the traditional method gold has decreased by Tk 758 to Tk 53,071 per bhori.

Earlier on April 11, the prices of gold increased by Tk 1,750 to Tk 78,849 a bhori in the local market.

Then, 22-carat gold was sold at Tk 78,849 per bhori, 21-carat gold at Tk 75,350, and 18-carat gold was sold at Tk 64,560 per bhori.

The price for the traditional method gold was increased by Tk 1,225 to Tk 53,830 per bhori.
