Gold Price Goes Up Again

The price of gold increased in the country's market within a week. The price of good quality gold has been increased by 1 thousand 50 taka. As a result, the price of 22-carat gold will increase to 82 thousand 348 taka. Which until now was 81 thousand 298 taka.

This information was informed in a press release signed by Chairman MA Hannan Azad, Chairman of Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Wednesday (August 3).

From Thursday (August 4), gold will be traded across the country as per the new price.

Earlier, on July 28, gold prices were hiked with effect from July 29. Before that, the price was increased in a gap of two days. In other words, the price of gold was increased on July 26, which is effective from July 27.

Due to the price increase, it will cost 82 thousand 348 taka to buy good quality 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) from August 4. The price of 21-carat gold has been increased by 1 thousand 50 taka to 78 thousand 615 taka. The price of 18-carat gold has increased by Tk 933 which will now sell at Tk 67 thousand 417 and the price of traditional gold has been increased by Tk 525 to Tk 55 thousand 696.

However, the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, the price of 22-carat silver is 1 thousand 516 taka. The price of 21-carat silver remains unchanged at Tk 1,435, 18 carat silver at Tk 1,225, and traditional silver at Tk 933.

As of Wednesday, 22-carat gold was sold at Tk 81 thousand 298. The price of 21-carat gold was Tk 77 thousand 566, 18-carat was sold at Tk 66 thousand 485 and the traditional method was Tk 55 thousand 171.
