Evaly Board of Directors Resigned, Shamima to Rejoin As Director

The five-member board of directors led by former Justice HM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has resigned from e-commerce company Evaly. Their resignation letter will be formally presented to the court on Wednesday.

Mahbub Kabir Milan, Managing Director (MD) of Evaly formed by the High Court and former Additional Secretary, confirmed this on Tuesday.

Other members of the board – former secretary of Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Division Mohammad Rezaul Ahsan, additional secretary Mahbub Kabir Milan, Chartered Accountant Fakhruddin Ahmed and company law expert lawyer barrister Khan Mohammad Shamim Aziz.

Shamima Nasreen, one of the founders and former chairman of the e-commerce company Evaly, is returning to Evely with four new directors as ordered by the court.

Shamima will be joined by her mother Farida Talukdar and brother-in-law Mamunur Rashid as shareholders of the company. Besides, one representative each from e-CAB and the Ministry of Commerce is joining the board of Evaly as an independent director.

On August 24, the High Court ordered the inclusion of Shamima Nasreen, her mother and her sister’s husband in the new board for the relaunch of Evaly. The High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar gave the order in this regard._Agencies
