Data from the World Trade Organization (WTO) released on Monday show that Bangladesh raised its share of the global garment trade in 2022 and retained its position as the second-largest exporter of clothes.
In 2022, Bangladesh's share of the world clothing trade rose from 6.40 to 7.90 percent.
China remains the world's largest exporter of garments with a market share of 31.7%.
Vietnam ranked third among apparel exporters in 2022, according to the WTO's World Trade Statistical Review 2023, with a market share of 6.1 percent.
Bangladesh exported garment products worth $45 billion in 2022, the research said.
Data from the WTO shows that in 2022, China exported apparel worth $182 billion while Vietnam sold items worth $35 billion.
